Configuration

Lua-created controls are real CVariable entries. Their stable identifier hashes the script identity, tab, group, control name, and control kind.

Current configs store:

  • the sorted IDs of active cloud scripts;
  • bounded Lua variable definitions containing script ID, identifier, and variable type;
  • values through the existing variable and keybind serializer.

On load, Traceless validates the manifest, preloads placeholder variables, deserializes values, reconciles cloud scripts, and attaches controls to their preloaded values as scripts initialize. Duplicate identifiers, native-variable collisions, invalid types, and malformed ranges reject the config.

Legacy configs contain no cloud script section and intentionally unload every cloud script. Local developer projects are never reconciled by config loading.

The Lua API does not expose a config-loading or config-switching function. Use the Config page to manage configs; Lua-created controls participate in whichever config the client loads.
